Amazon USA is gradually expanding it's reach to more markets around the world and there are a growing number of countries in Africa where they now offer direct shipping to. What this means is that Amazon.com will deliver your items to you in Africa as long as you have a delivery address. However, this is for products that have been marked as eligible for international shipping and I recommend you check out for those products on this page.

In the past, many Africans such as Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana were not able to buy things on Amazon but gradually, Amazon has started accepting card payments from some of them but didn't offer direct shipping to them except to a US address that the buyer may specify. This made a lot of buyers in Africa make do with a US shipping service that allowed them to shop on US websites like Amazon and bring the items to Africa.

Nowadays, there is no need to bring in a third party to help with shopping or delivering items purchased at Amazon if you are in countries like Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa as they now offer directly shipping to you. I think the latest countries to be added were Kenya and Nigeria as they've been delivering to South Africa in the past.

I've purchased things on Amazon in the past from Africa and I did make use of a US shipping service in the past and still do when Amazon will not deliver the items directly. The problem with using a third party shipping agent was that it was a bit more expensive and rates were not within my control. Nowadays, I can save a bit more money by dealing with Amazon directly. This has been made possible by Amazon's global shipping service. When an item or products are ordered on Amazon from international buyers, they are normally packaged and shipped internationally by Amazon export sales inc and they could arrive within 7 days or less.

I think the reason why Amazon recently included Kenya and Nigeria was because Kenya has the biggest economies in East Africa and is an important marketplace in the continent while Nigeria is the giant of Africa and recently acknowledged as having the biggest economy in Africa thanks to their growing and stable democracy.

There are about 54 countries in Africa and for now Amazon only delivers most things directly to just 5 of them but there are many others in Africa who may want to buy things from Amazon. If Amazon will not deliver directly to you and you have a Visa, Mastercard or Paypal, I recommend you just get a US shipping service or make use of a US personal shopping service to get the items you want from Amazon.

As I mentioned, it's not really every product listed on Amazon that are available to Africans for direct shipping but only those items that have been marked as eligible for international shipping or eligible for shipping to your country. You can find those items listed on this page.
