For those who love eating roasted plantain a.k.a. boli, there is a cool way you can now make them and this is by using a smoke free, burn free oven called a halogen oven.

I like plantains but I was getting tired of eating them fried and so wanted something a bit different without having to buy ready made ones from the market so I now make use of my Andrakk halogen oven to make them and it's really healthy since they are oil free.

Steps
==========
1. Peel the plantain. Cut if you want or leave it as it is. I prefer cutting a single one into 4 parts
2. Put the time to 20 mins and temperature to 200 degree Celsius
3. Put down the handle to start the roasting
4. Oven roasts for 20 mins and turns off itself
5. I allow it to cool for about 1 minute and then remove it.

After the above steps, my roasted plantains are ready for eating.

One advantage of cooking with a halogen oven is that you can roast without having to turn it over since it cooks pretty well all over. Another good thing is that I can roast with little or no oil making it healthier than fried foods.

I'm able to roast a lot of stuff with my halogen oven and this includes yams, potatoes, fish, chicken and so on. It also can self clean itself all with the touch of a button.
